In September 2008 with Patrick Roberts, the Windsor Soccer Club and Autism Ontario Windsor-Essex RCP Co-ordinator Catherine McKay started the WSC Special Stars Program. Since the beginning the main focus has been to learn soccer skills, make new friends and build up our players.
In 2009 our soccer program for Autistic / ASD Diagnosed Children and Young Adults started with 21 children and young adults on 2 teams and we grew. In 2011 and 2012, our league grew to 112 children and young adults on 14 teams. We hope to continue to grow and provide a constant support for our community.
With our affiliation with the Windsor Soccer Club, this allows us to make the rules and decisions with the best interest of our players and families at heart. We value you just as much as you value us.
We do not have Indoor practices on Mothers Day, Easter Weekend and No Soccer Games on Fathers Day or July 3 long weekend.
The Focus of the indoor practices is to teach the children and young adults soccer skills to play soccer games in the summer time while making new friends, both the players and the families.
Players have to be turning 4 years old in the year they play but not turning 20 years old in year of play. Players are ages 4-19 years old , but can go to 25 years old on a case by case as long as they are not aggressive ( hitting or hurting others as we want all to be safe )
Our Celebration of Achievement Party usually 2nd Sunday in August is for players, their immediate family and volunteers. Players get a trophy, the Family Memento Book 2015 , the 2015 DVD of the season and a party with entertainment and food for the whole family.
In January 23,2012 the WSC.Special Stars Soccer League became the Windsor Essex County Special Stars Soccer League as a OSA Sanctioned Organized Non-Profit Soccer :League. We are extremely proud of that moment as we came from just a thought in September 2008 and an email. I am extremely proud of everyone who helped make all possible.
We started a new Division in February 2012 called the Mighty Tykes in the DundeeWealth Division for 4-5 years old. We hope everything works out for all involved to succeed. Because of the heat in summer The CARTSAR @ Dundee Wealth Divisions do play outdoor games at Ford Test Track in summertime only Indoor Practices at General Brock Public School ,gym at 3312 Sandwich St West, in Windsor.
We feel that the HollisWealth " Mighty Tykes " is the future of the league as we teach them as early as possible so if the families decide to join the regular league their children will have some been do structured practices and little games at the end of their practices. On February 24,2013 will will extend the division from 2 teams to 4 teams to give more families the chance to develop their child in a safe environment amongst their peers learning soccer skills and making new friends and a great support environment for the parents as well.

This Logo was used from July 2009 to January 23,2012. We truly apprieciate Paul Bartolo for getting this logo done when he had WS Club new logo done.
A big part of this league is due to the great support that we have recieved from Past President - Dan Matthews and Present President - Paul Bartolo of the Windsor Soccer Club.
This Logo was created by Metin Aktas of Acko Printing in 2013. We use it for the yearly DVD sticker with the year.
This Banner was Created by Lisa Payne from Mom2Mom. It is my favourite, that says it all and looks great.
January 23 , 201 We got Permission from WSClub to keep the logoi and change it to Windsor Essex County instead of Windsor Soccer Club.
